***Times up!!! Two finalist will be posted in a few hours and then the poll will be UP for vote!!! THANKS for PLAYING guys!!!
DON'T YOU HATE IT WHEN--
Your walking through your office with a Styrofoam cup to fill up with some quality H2O when you see your boss who sees you and says, "Hello Sunshine!"--(No lie...that's what the guy calls me...I don't know if I should be flattered or scared)...and you trip, stumble over some imaginary thing in the carpet, and drop the cup in the process? Making it look like you went all DOE eyes for the boss and tripped over your feet because he said HI to you?
Totally embarrassing...because I honestly just tripped, on NOTHING, and the cup fell to the floor.
On top of that...in between us were short-walled cubicles...meaning about 8 people saw the WHOLE exchange.
I picked up the cup and said...and I'm being completely honest...I said, "What? I tripped! I promise!"
I'm totally LAME!

I say this in the name of all holy blogs...Amen or Awomen or Apeople to keep it equal.

I'm going covert...
Okay guys you totally won't believe this but I am covert today...NO LIE!
The internet at my house is on strike. Won't let me on...
So I'm cheating on it. I have to, I don't want you to think my husband did anything wrong or get the wrong impression that we ACTUALLY did anything for our Anniversary besides go to a movie and share a popcorn. So NO, we didn't go on some extravagant trip that my husband showed up at my work and whisked me away to...(That was in my dreams and in the books I read, not REAL life, and NOBODY say different or I'll knock you to the ground, just let me live in my non-romantic REAL life and dream that everybody else lives the same)
The reality was that on THURSDAY, our ANNIVERSARY, we went to a movie and shared a popcorn.
The reason why I haven't blogged is because my INTERNET is down. Sometimes I repeat myself, get use to it.
So you guys *leans in and whispers*
I am totally at the Library writing this post! I've got Grandpa one and Grandpa two on either side of me and Sister LDS Missionaries in front of me...I'm sitting here with my Navy Blue Hoodie up over my head because I'm under the air and it's blowing COLD air...looking like I've got something to hide! It's GREAT!!!
OHMYGOSH and GADNESS how desperate right?
I'm laughing at myself right now... so completely funny.
But the cool things is, I have the time to myself anyway...and the library computers only allow me an HOUR to surf the internet...so I'm on a time limit, because if you are a dedicated MOMMY or DADDY blogger such as myself, you know that an hour in BLOG time is literally like 10.2 minutes.
So I really don't have much time. Without further ado...
DON'T YOU HATE IT WHEN....
I'm sorry this is another bathroom story for me...I wanted to hold off on this, but since my internet is on strike and I have little time to post here...it's all I got right now...and I really need to know your opinion...it's been killing me to hold back, but I thought you might be getting sick of toilet stories and I was going to wait a few more weeks, but here it goes.
Don't you hate it when you walk into a COSTCO public bathroom and all the stall doors are closed, so you have to lean down, LOW, to check to see where the feet are and if they are all full. While you are leaning over, and then over some more, you spot ONE stall left with NO feet...and of course, someone walks in...then you straighten up as quick as you can and rush into the stall so you don't have to look those people in the face.
Of course the person before you didn't flush so you make a disgusted face and flush the toilet...then the toilet seat covers are gone and you have water splash from flushing on the seat...so you grab toilet paper...wipe off the toilet seat, grab some MORE toilet paper and precariously lay the toilet paper down on the seat so you feel SAFER from germs and such and then sit down to go to the bathroom...only to find out the stall door doesn't lock because it SUCKS...
Slowly the door starts to open...so you shut it and try to hold it but the TWISTER moves aren't working...so you let go of the door to hurry and pee, when some OLDER lady comes walking in and comes RIGHT to your stall and proceeds to shove the door OPEN!!!
COME ON ALREADY!!!
Older lady who doesn't do the check for feet procedure: "OOPS! Sorry...thought that was empty!"
Me: TOTALLY embarrassed and just wishing that I could be done and over with. When she proceeds to say...
Older lady who doesn't do the check for feet procedure: "You should LOCK your stall door dear!"
Me: Is she KIDDING ME!!! Who in their right mind DOESN'T TRY TO LOCK THE STALL DOOR!!! WHAT the FREAKING WHAT? Give me a break already...I held on to this pee until it was stabbing my bladder for release...she thinks I WANT TO BE SITTING THERE in a public bathroom with a won't lock stall door? Or that I just didn't lock because...because...WHO the HELK knows? Holding in my sarcastic nature, I say, "It doesn't lock".
By that time I was finished peeing. I go to wipe...guess who used all but two squares of toilet paper to clean the toilet seat before she sat down?
Yea...that would be me.
So I cleverly scraped that toilet paper off and tried to wipe the most sanitary way I could...did my pants up and got out of there!
No worries...the older lady was already in the stall so I didn't have to see her.
Yea...hate that when that happens...so tell me, what in the WORLD do you say to something like that? HONESTLY? Because if it ever happens again I don't know if I could hold my tongue like I did, because I'm pretty sure if there is a next time and I am not prepared I'll come back with some kind of sarcastic remark that is MORE in my nature, but WAY less mature!
Gotta run...
Love,
Shelle

Back Combing, Big Hair, without a cute southern accent is just not ME!
Okay, the only thing I want to say about The OFFICE is Dwight, knife, dummy, and using it on his face! lol!!! I'm STILL laughing!!! Yuck with Jack Black kissing the old lady...bleh!
Don
't You Hate It When you go to a Hair Salon walking in with you hair done how you are use to...but walking out with your hair ratted up like the sixties and wishing you had a southern drawl?
Let me just tell you. I'm not a BIG hair person. It doesn't look good on me...in fact, I've tried it, and when I try and rat my hair to give it some volume...I end up driving around on the SHORT bus...
no lie...
It just doesn't look good on me.
I go and get my hair done because I love getting it washed, feeling it cut and dried, and laying just how it's suppose to.
With my regular hair lady who retired a year ago, I always walked away fromt he salon looking like and feeling like a million dollars...I have been flouncing around desperate to find another one that I trust and love just as much as her.
I found a really cute girl here where I live...but couldn't get in to see her and the highlights of gray by my ears were shouting 911!
So I decided to throw caution to the wind and try another hair dresser, who knows, maybe she would be better than the other one? I have been having problems with my bangs, so maybe the NEW lady would cut them better and they would lay normal?
It wasn't my OTHER hair dresser's fault...my bangs are finicky and I feel that they miss my retired hair dresser...so they are having a rebellious streak where anyone else attempting to cut them is in for it... *shakes head*
So I walk into the hair salon, with the NEW hair dresser, and things are going nicely. The 6 degrees of separation play a hand in our conversation and it turns out I taught her daughter a dance piece in high school a few years ago and her daughter is also marrying a guy that I grew up with.
We picked a color...goes GREAT with my eyes BTW...and she cut my hair...did a fabulous job.
Then it came to the styling part of it all. The part I cringe and hope that I walk out feeling like a model and not like an alien.
But such wasn't my luck that day.
As I'm talking with the hair stylist and she has me turned away from the mirror, I FEEL her begin to rat or back comb my hair.
OH NO, I thought...how do I tell her nicely that I'm not a back comber? Can I tell her I'm allergic to ratted hair? Will she go for it? What to do?
Me: "Yea, well, ummm...I should have probably said this since we barely know each other...but I"m not a BIG hair kind of girl...so a nice round brush and a straightener and I'm good to go."
Back Combing Hair Dresser: Laughs..."Oh I don't like Big Hair either...I'm just going to back comb it and then I'll tame it down. The other Hair Dresser here, Kim, She LOVES big hair...she is from Tremonton, UT, they ALL like big hair there...it's so funny because everyone goes walking out of here looking like her with BIG hair." She laughs again, as she continues to rat, spray hair spray, and rat again.
Me: I'm getting really queasy at this point so I say, "Oh my GOSH...totally forgot I have to be somewhere in like 3 minutes...so just go ahead and comb it through and I'll just go however I am...sorry, I'm so dumb sometimes" looks at her sheepishly. I totally lied for the sake of not throwing up!
Back Combing Hair Dresser: "Oh!....Okay. Just let me finish this, it will just take a second." Rat, Rat, Comb, Spray, Rat, Comb, Spray. "Okay, I'm done." During that time, my husband stopped by to grab the keys he needed for the van to get his sunglasses. I knew it was bad when he stopped, looked up at me, and then his jaw hit the floor. He recovered quickly enough, but that meant one of two things.
Either I looked WAY HOT!
Or I didn't.
I'm going to venture...I didn't.
So when she turned me around to look in the mirror...My imagination of how it looked at how it REALLY looked was too kind. It was monstorous!!! I would have screamed if my etiquette of human communication would have allowed me to. My hair was not just big...it was HUGE!!! I felt like one of those women who had big hair and a southern drawal. Not the charming, classy, beautiful big hair southern women...but the ones that TRY to be charming and classy with BIG hair...
Instead when she asked, "How do you like it?"
I replied, "The color is beautiful"...I believe I might have even slipped in a sarcastic drawal when I said that, paid her, and ran out the door!!!
I jumped in my Van and tried with all my might to undo the snarls with my fingers. It was like trying to dig at a cement wall.
Yea...I hate it when that happens. What's worse was having to face my all to can't-wait-to-make-fun-of-Shelle spouse when I saw him next. Lets not even go INTO the bangs people...think 80's and feathers...
Let's just say...next time, my 911 gray hairs will just have to WAIT!!!
What about you? Ever had a similar experience? Or do you not mind because BIG HAIR is fabulous on you and you were blessed with being charming, classy, and have a cute southern drawal?
Love,
Shelle

Fecal Matter...Don't You Hate It When!
Okay the following is a true story.
However.
I warn you that you might not want to be eating when you read this.
Or STOP here if your stomach gets queasy easily.
Are you still reading?
Then don't blame me for any sort of vomiting or dry heaving you experience.
Because just writing this makes me go though recent memories that I have pushed, shoved, and tried to erase from my psyche...but feel the only way to fully do this is to leave it behind me, or on this blog, where forever it will be written down and taken from my mind.
As Nutty Hamster Chick recently told me which was somewhat prophetic, "A blog is forever"...and it is forever, until you delete it, or until the end of the world comes. But I feel a part of what I have written down is recorded elsewhere to be in records that MAY be forever...ya know? So I feel she knows more and feels deeper than most Nutty Hamster Chicks and I am good with blog aura's, and hers is the purest from...so I trust her deep thoughts.
So as part of my therapy process I am taking this buried experience and bringing out for all to read so the story will continue...and maybe help someone else...because I'm giving that way.
This story is TRUE, and most definitely, a DON'T YOU HATE IT WHEN story, in its truest form...
Don't You Hate It When... One sec...I just vomited in my mouth...
Okay, I'm good...
You are walking into Target and your husband grabs your arm...to the point of bruising...to hold you back because if you took ONE MORE step you would have stepped into a LOG of POO!
NO LIE!
My husband saw a lady darting towards the Men's Bathroom, when to HIS horror, a LOG of POO rolled out of the pant leg of the women rushing in front of us to the bathroom.
grant it...she had somewhat of a limp...
But...
She didn't miss a step or acknowledge that she had just dropped fecal matter in the path of my soon to be step! What the what?!!!
I stood there frozen, queasy, yet frozen.
Looking down and with utter disgust I said, "Eeeeewwww she just poo-ed on the floor!"(I know, I feel ya MOM!)
I know...I like to point out the obvious, its what my husband says is one of my most endearing qualities.
At that same moment she walked OUT of the Men's Bathroom...I stared at her, she looked at me, then walked straight down into the Women's Bathroom.
At that point I felt bad for her. I did. But I couldn't wrap my brain around it.
I don't understand...when it's a LOG of poo...isn't that an easier think to hold in? I mean, I get diarrhea, or water poop, as Peeps calls it, but a LOG of poo? To roll down your leg, out your bum, and down your leg? Your sphincter would have to open up for that to happen right? Sorry to get all vulgar, but it's true. It just seems to me that she would have been able to hold it until she reached the bathroom? Even if it was the Men's. Poor Thing.
But I don't know? She did have a limp...and I know, no one in their right mind would do that on purpose...duh!
Then I was hit with a dilemma.
Do I tell the employees? Because if I tell them are they going to think it was me that had fecal matter roll out my pant leg? Would they think I said someone else did it, but it was really me? Like when someone let's a silent one go...then waits until the first person smells it and lets them say, 'Eeeewww who farted?" and then they say, "The first one who smelt it dealt it?"
Should I risk it?
As I turn around and see a beautiful blonde girl on her cell phone, in her own world, talking as if the whole world and myself, along with my husband, wasn't watching her hoping with all hope that she doesn't step on the log before I can warn her off...
I knew...I knew, *sigh* that the day before Christmas Eve, Eve, was just as good as a time as any to swallow my pride and let the Target employees know.
If I had been in my right mind and not feeling the after effects of dry heaving I would have realized I could have just had my husband do it...
Oh well.
Now the employees at Target give me weird looks and whisper behind their hands as I shop there...but I feel as if I did the right thing...ya know?
Please tell me you Hate when that Happens? What would YOU have done?
Love,
Shelle
Happy Monday, right?
No worries...I have a post in drafts that I shall post tomorrow about Public Bathroom Etiquette!

BUNCO and BINGO
***UPDATE: Okay here are the TOP TWO--except for there was a tie amongst the panel, so to appease everyone, and because it's my contest, my rules (which can change at anytime)-- And just to clairfy...my panel consisted of people that don't read my blog often (except for one of them who is UBER dedicated!... and I knew would show no impartiality--but whomever wins...it was probably someone's Aunt/Cousin/Sister in law twice removed--so I'm just getting that out there so no one can argue later!!!)
Here are the top TWO/THREE in NO particular order:
1. Emily/Sewl--we all agreed that she has had some ROUGH times...yet we laughed at her!!! (goes to show who I selected to judge)
2. Binks--She has entered many times...but I honestly laughed SO hard at this...partially because I have a similar experience that I'll have to tell you about someday...but this post had just the right CREEPY/DRY-Heave/Funny mix-which won the panel over!!!
3. Lisa at the CLan of the cave Hair--I'm sorry, but this one literally made me vomit in my mouth...really it did...and then I had just finished Binks' and was nautious the rest of the day! We all agreed that if we weren't vomiting in our mouths we would have been ROFL--but that would have caused major clean up!
Congrats ladies. Now it is up to your FANS to vote for you!
The rules about voting--there are no rules...Vote as many times as you want! And the winner will be determed by 5pm MST on December 18, 2008 (Thursday).
______________________________________________
Holy Gross, funny, crazy, and just Freaky funny you guys are! Seriously! Way to really put my panel to the test...this is hard to choose!
Sometime today I will announce with an update on this post who the top two are...then it is up to you to choose who the Grand Prize Winner is.
I kept reading..."I am going to enter again in hopes of winning or I'm going to enter ONE more time"--come on guys...make this seem like BINGO where you just keep trying and trying to be the one who ultimately stands up making a fool out of themselves...but they don't care because they WON!!!
So just keep doing it...just keep entering and being a part of the club! Some day YOU will be the ultimate fool standing up and waving your hands around, and all of us will smile, yet think in the back of our brains..."they must know the person yelling the numbers...this thing is fixed!" Yet we will show up next week to play again anyway!!!
Be like that...K...
Cause I look forward to hearing from you guys...even if it might only be once a month now!
Now quiet children...I need to read along with these other qualified judges on my panel to decide who is up for this month's Don't You Hate It When Grand Prize!!!
Love,
Shelle
P.S. I'm more of a BUNCO chick...I just want that out there...BINGO is not really my style! But I used BINGO as my example...because I didn't remember I liked BUNCO better until after and I'm not very good at editing, you would know that if you read my BLOG faithfully...
So insert BUNCO for BINGO for me! Thanks!

But let's say for Family night I want us to gather round the computer to read a little bit of hilarity and fun and teach my kids the etiquette of making fun of others...only to have to put a parental block on the best ones because they made a PG post PG-13, in the should have been posted PG-17 way, if you know what I mean!!!

Thanksgiving Dinner and 24 hour Flatulence...
Don't You Hate It When--
You've been very courteous to the other shoppers at the Park City Outlet Mall, AT Midnight, to save your normal bodily functions to do OUTSIDE where people can breathe fresh air and get away from your bodily functions more quickly... then inside a trapped store with HUNGRY deal-grabbing-Mama's who are boxing you in? Yea I hate that...especially when it is the rotten egg smelling ones! For the LOVE...
Whomever let that one go, IN STORE with more people then fire hazard allows, is sick and wrong...you HEAR me out there person...inconsiderate...sick.and.wrong! (Of course nobody claimed it!)
I was totally Cocooned in a rotten egg smelling fart...I had to duck and cover because hot air rises...which made me look like the guilty party, and then people where give me crazy looks. Which made me want to shout that "Hey it wasn't me!"...but then I would've eaten the fart...and that would've been worse!
But I still Love Black Friday's...
Love,
Shelle
P.S. Later that morning. My sister-in-law let one go in the car...then locked the windows before I could roll down the window...which made me laugh as I threatened her life to the point I was crying, then I was crying for real because I SWEAR I could taste it.
Has there been a study linked to Thanksgiving Dinner and 24 hour Flatulence?

When did THAT come unbuttoned?
First of all...I'm BACK...no I haven't abandoned you, I just have ACTUALLY been busy with photography! I guess Christmas and family pictures go hand in hand!? Who would've thunked it?
But I have read most of your posts in my Google Reader and I expect to get over to your sites to leave my dry humor there!
But first...
For the next TWO days you can vote for you favorite Don't You Hate It When post on my right hand side bar for the Month of November. The winner receives the quilt made by Kritta and a $25.00 gift card from Amazon.com. So go ahead and vote! And then next month I will warn you the day before I hold the contest and tell you then what you could win. It will be like in that movie, "Never Back Down" where they text everyone the day of the fight where the fight will be...except cooler because it will be my Don't You Hate It When contest! I'm anticipating great things with all the secrecy!!!
In the meantime...I'm going to continue to post a Don't You Hate It When post because they humor me and make me laugh and I have a plethora of experiences to indulge myself...so deal with it!
Don't Y
ou Hate It When...
You are speaking to your boss about something important (because why else would you speak with your male boss?)--Only to get up and leave his office to look down at your button up blouse to see that the button that is suppose to be closed at your breasts is open for all to see what color your bra is? (White, BTW, I'm very boring!)
Yea I HATE when that happens...dang over engorged breasts of mine!!! Buttons have a hard time keeping a hold of themselves...it's a strain on them... poor things!!!

Green Beans or Asparagus? Don't You Hate It When...come play!
Remember you have today to enter and tomorrow to VOTE!
Don't You Hate It When...
You don't know the difference between Green beans and Asparagus and you are just meeting a BBFF in Real life so you show how much of an airhead your really are? Yea...I hate that too!
Okay so you all know that I met Binks in real life in Vegas a couple of weekends ago. I explain it all here ...and what a beautiful person she is...and Binks explained her version here.
I also met her sister Barbs.
They took us to a Wolf Gang Puck restaurant...and I'll be honest, I had NO idea what the food even was.
But they brought out a some Green Bean dish, "Courtesy of the Chef" (I wasn't sure if they were going to have us DO SOMETHING for them if we took the beans...but then I saw that the Chef was being courtesy to everyone...) they said...but in honor of my pride here they were shriveled and had some delicious sauce on them.
Anyway...even though I heard the host guy tell us they were Green Beans, when we were discussing later what vegetable we were eating, (because somehow three women and one man couldn't remember what the host guy had said)..I said something like, "I may not know my seafood, but I know my vegetables and this is Asparagus!"
Yea...ummmm
It was Green Beans.
I'm a total airhead!
But I had them for a second...because those shriveled up Green Beans looked ALOT like Asparagus (The picture above is NOT the green bean dish we had...the green beans we had were WAY more shriveled up at the end)...but then their brains kicked in and they were like, "Didn't the host guys say it was a Green Bean dish?"
Ummmm...Hello? Didn't they know that this was our FIRST time meeting and it would have been REALLY nice just to let the airhead say and think what she wants? Doesn't anyone have first-time-meeting-blog-friends etiquette anymore?
*************************************************************************
Here's a run down of what you need to know:
1. Don't you hate it when is the theme. Your post must TRY to be humorous or awe inspiring! You can link a picture, personal or not, tell a story, link to a video or post a personal video...whatever...as long as it is attempting to make us Roll On Floor Laughing, or in text form (ROFL)! Click here for examples. Then add your name and the specific post for the contest to the MR. LINKY at the bottom. HOPE...such an incredible word!

I have been reading blogs...(duh) and it has been so cool to read some blogs where they are finding something to be thankful for EVERYDAY or everytime they post. I'm not sure for how long...if it's just for November or just until Thanksgiving or what? But I love it nonetheless...don't you just love words like that...nonetheless...all written together? I do.
Well I'm not one to stick with something, but I can add my two cents and contribute to telling you what I'm thankful for. I pride myself in being a well-rounded person (no pun intended)--I love to laugh, I'm known to cry, and I'm only crazy 3/4 of the time...the other times...
Here is the OTHER times...
I'm thankful for my religion. For the gospel I'm lucky to have in my life...and the thing I am most thankful for about the gospel, I so love...is the hope that comes with it.
I couldn't begin to say in words how I feel, but when I re-read this talk given in the last General Conference we had (Oct. 2008)--well he explains it SO much better!
So as not to massacre what I would like to relay, here is an excerpt from that talk "The Infinite Power of Hope" by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf Second Counselor in the First Presidency:
The scriptures say that there must be “an opposition in all things.”15 So it is with faith, hope, and charity. Doubt, despair, and failure to care for our fellowmen lead us into temptation, which can cause us to forfeit choice and precious blessings.
The adversary uses despair to bind hearts and minds in suffocating darkness. Despair drains from us all that is vibrant and joyful and leaves behind the empty remnants of what life was meant to be. Despair kills ambition, advances sickness, pollutes the soul, and deadens the heart. Despair can seem like a staircase that leads only and forever downward.
Hope, on the other hand, is like the beam of sunlight rising up and above the horizon of our present circumstances. It pierces the darkness with a brilliant dawn. It encourages and inspires us to place our trust in the loving care of an eternal Heavenly Father, who has prepared a way for those who seek for eternal truth in a world of relativism, confusion, and of fear.
And if that isn't cool enough...if that doesn't make you picture exactly what HOPE should be or mean in your life...this should clinch it for you:
Hope is not knowledge,17 but rather the abiding trust that the Lord will fulfill His promise to us. It is confidence that if we live according to God’s laws and the words of His prophets now, we will receive desired blessings in the future.18 It is believing and expecting that our prayers will be answered. It is manifest in confidence, optimism, enthusiasm, and patient perseverance.
In the language of the gospel, this hope is sure, unwavering, and active. The prophets of old speak of a “firm hope”19 and a “lively hope.”20 It is a hope glorifying God through good works. With hope comes joy and happiness.21 With hope, we can “have patience, and bear . . . [our] afflictions.”22
HOPE...I am SO thankful for HOPE. With the trials and tribulations that chip at me and mold me into who I am...there is NO WAY the sharp edges and angles could be buffed away by anything other than HOPE. Someday I HOPE to reach the potential of the master piece I can become.
Love,
Shelle

Voting Polls and Fortune Cookies
Okay...so I like to change things up if you couldn't tell!!!
So not ONLY do you get to go and vote for who will RUN this country today! You also get to vote for something JUST as important!
Who will win the FIRST week in NOVEMBER of my Don't You Hate It When contest!
I know, LUCKY YOU!
So if you make a comment...please vote(over there on my sidebar)...even if you vote like you do at THE POLLS today...you know who you are going to vote for, for President...other than that, the rest of voting is a little in the gray area! :)
Voting ends today at MIDNIGHT MST!!! So click your little heart away! You can vote for more than one person...but try and vote for them ONLY once! :) Easy enough right?
If you forgot who posted what...or WHAT the posted about...click here!
Winner will be announced TOMORROW!!!
Moving right along to bigger and yet better things!
I want you to know that I live my life according to the Fortune Cookies I get. I go to only the most Exclusive Chinese Restaurants...partake of the over-the-top-religious-heaven-like-meal and then when it is time to choose the all important Fortune Cookie...I wave my head over the Fortune Cookie Aura's and I am drawn to the one that BEST defines me.
It's Fail Proof...and my life is deeper and more enriched because of it.
For instance, I always had a gut understanding of how people perceive me...I know people stare...I am an anomaly...but a couple of days ago, after going to the Exclusive Restaurant, Panda Express, my Fortune Cookie solidified my gut feeling:
I can only take that as Doctrine!
I'm just saying...if you can't live your life by the great guidance of the FORTUNE COOKIE...how ARE you to live your life? I don't even want to know.
Also...my son, I have found out, is somewhat of a psychic. He was asked to write what he would like to be when he grows up and then draw a picture of it. This is what he sees in his future...
That says, "When I grow up I want to be a SmootheMan". At first I thought he meant...like a smooth man...like Mr. L Suave...but he rectified my misunderstanding and said, "I am going to be a Smoothie Maker!"
Who am I to argue?
So what have your FORTUNE COOKIES predicted in your future?
Love,
Shelle

Don't You Hate It When--New Month, New Prize!!!
UPDATE: Hey I have decided that I will give you all one day to enter...and one day to vote! How very generous right? Right! So keep your entries going...and tomorrow I'll put a pull up to vote!!! Good LUCK!!!
Don't You Hate It When--
Your kid is TOTALLY cooler than all the rest?
Okay, I had to give a shout out to my boy...because I'm proud as a peacock!
Wait?
Are Peacocks really proud? I mean, who knows for sure? Maybe when they spread their beautiful feathers they are doing it out of cowardice?
Oh well...
My son came home one day and handed me his back pack. I usually go through it and throw away everything I think is junk...keep the cute stuff in his school box...and then give it back to him. Well there was a flyer in his backpack and it was for the Reflections contest with the theme being this year "WOW". This is the conversation we had about it:
Me: "DCar, are you going to enter the Reflections Contest?" at this point I don't really CARE if he enters...I never did because I was too afraid of failure, but he didn't know that, and I wanted him to decide for himself.
DCar: "Ummmm..." as he's watching T.V. "No, it's too hard!"
Me: oh no he didn't..."What do you mean it's too hard?"
DCar: "It's just to hard. I don't know what to do."
Me: "So you are telling me that you aren't going to even TRY because you ASSUME it's too hard. How do you know it's too hard without even giving it a chance? When you couldn't get Guitar Hero at first, did you give up? Or not even play in the first place because you thought it was TOO HARD?" I ground out, while huffing and puffing...my mind in a frenzy because I'm afraid my son is going to be just like me, and talk himself out of things before he even gives himself a chance! ( I know I'm a dead ringer for the Motivational speech writer that wrote Brave Heart's final battle scene!)
DCar: Rolls his eyes..."Okay, fine...I'll try it! But I'm not doing it if it's too hard after that!"
That's right. The kid and I threw around ideas and came up with him doing some kind of photography. He took a pic of himself in the mirror with his Dad doing WOW with his hands. Then we got on photoshop and I helped him mess around with Actions and Erasure's. He made all final decisions on the look of the photo himself. I thought we would just enter it and that would be that...and chalk it up to another teaching lesson!
And then we go to the Reflections evening to find out the winners and him and one other kid are moving on to the REGIONALS!!! Crazy huh!
Can you tell he's totally embarrassed of me taking his photo right here?
Here's the actual photo...not bad right? So I'm proud as a PEACOCK!!! And that's pretty PROUD! Would it be wrong of me to make a necklace out of the photo and walk around with it on my neck at work with the words written on it, "My son is a WINNER!!!"
Yea, you're right...that's tacky!
I'll just wear it on my back and when people say something about it I'll just look shocked and say, "My son...that little trickster must have taped that to my back...he was so excited to WIN the CONTEST!!!"
You ready to play today?
This month's prize is SO awesome I wish I actually could enter...but I won't...because I would totally rig it to make me win.
So my friend over at Protect and Provide:
Is going to make a QUILT for the winner!!! She is amazing and quilts all of the time...but also makes purses and aprons and TONZ of other things. I'm going to pay her to make me one...but one of YOU lucky players will get one for FREE!!! Seriously...if that isn't enough to make you enter...the LUCKY winner will also get a $25.00 total Amazon card donated $20.00 by an Anonymous player and $5.00 from Georgie over at Decisionally Challenged! Thank you THANK YOU contributors (Always accepting more donations!)...I'm so lucky to have such great people around me in this blog world I've created for myself! :) I also may add more to the prize...I have some prizes that I'm not sure if I want to give away this month or next...so the PRIZE PACKAGE could grow!

Don't You Hate It When--COME PLAY!!!
****WOW--an email vote coming in @ 9:59am clinch the winner SHANNON...congratulations!!! Barbalootsuit you came in at a very close second...seriously that was crazy!!!
I will be emailing you Shannon with a Blog button for winning this week and you are now one of the 4 that will be in for the running at the end of the month for the GRAND PRIZE! :) Thanks again for everyone playing!!! :) See you next week!!! There is still ONE MORE CHANCE before the poll!
Don't You Hate It When… You have until 10AM Tuesday, October 21, 2008-to vote for your favorite!!!
You are dressed up, thinking you look pretty good if not INCREDIBLE, and have been talking to people pretty much ALL day…then you go into the restroom, go to the bathroom, go to wash you hands, and to your HORROR you look in the mirror and (da da dum) you have a CLIFF HANGER (booger) in your nose…there, for everyone to see, and NOBODY had the decency to tell you!!! NOBODY!!!
The day is almost over for you at work…and all you can think of is "When did that get there? Who saw it? Why didn't anybody tell me? Whose out there laughing or throwing up in disgust from seeing this cliff hanger just hanging there…in my nose…for them to stare and fixate on? HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN THERE!"
Then you just get mad because if things were twisted around YOU would have told THEM that they had a cliff hanger! YOU would have been a decent person…YOU would have not let them walk around like a complete idiot with something sitting in your nose, SHOUTING, "Hey look at me, I'm in her nose, come make fun of me, come see me and be disgusted!"
Yea I hate when that happens…
