Theme for today... DANCE!!!

Can you smell it in the air?

It's the changing of the Reality Shows, we go from American Idol--eh--so, so... and we get to get by FAR my favorite REALITY SHOW, who premiere'd last night!

(I wish they would ask me first when they photoshop'd my body on that poster... sigh.)

That's right... So You Think You Can Dance. Two hours of bliss... aaahhhh.

Of course we watched it on the DVR so I could fast forward. Sometimes those trying out make me feel all embarrassed for them, SO embarrassed I Fast Forward to save them the humiliation!!!

I'm nice like that.

I was able to take pictures of a Dance Concert a couple of weekends ago. Here are my two favorite shots.

The coolest part of that Dance Concert... my niece performed her solo that she is taking to NYC for the New York City Dance Alliance Nationals--she placed for a spot in the Finals Gala... I'm biased... but I think she is amazing!!! After you watch her, I'll let you know how old she is.

The girls 10!!! 10 years old. GAH... I love her! She's definitely my FAVORITE oldest niece!

The Flower Girls--Friday Foto Finish Fiesta

A few weeks ago I got to attend my SIL's wedding! And she asked my daughter to be one of her flower girls. Since we don't get to do this a lot... we were kinda excited! Especially when my daughter saw the dress she was going to get to wear!!!

I'm an EMPTY Shell

I'm honestly a shell of a person right now.

No...HONESTLY.

In the last 4 days I have had a total of 8 hours of sleep...

Like for instance, my Mom was talking to me at Apple Bee's and I had an outer body experience. It was like she was talking and we were conversing and then I just drifted off...

MORE than I usually do.

I saw her mouth moving, her expressions, her body movements...but just drifted into dream world.  I fell asleep sitting up and talking with someone... and she didn't have a clue, well at least not until she realized she was looking at me but my spirit was not there...LIGHTS OUT!

No, for real though, I was conversing with her and then I realized I had NO idea what we had been talking about, so then I had to play catch up before she asked me something I couldn't answer???!!!

Anyway... For the last four days, every evening, I have been taking pictures for the Hip Hop Studio in my town...2 ONE Productionz.  Then editing those photos until the WEE hours in the morning until I collapsed and the computer was doing whacked out things...like TALKING to me.  (Long Story).

So this is all I got... for Friday Foto Finish Fiesta over at Candid Carrie's... it's my favorite one SO FAR... 

Thanks everyone for yesterday's input!  Although, we all seemed torn on what to do...well except for Sage and Canadian Bald Guy...but that is to be expected since they don't run into sobbing women in the bathrooms, maybe crazy stalking women.. but that is another discussion for another day!  

And Kritta...you ROCK...seriously...ROCK.  And I'm going to dedicate a post especially for you...to answer ALL of your questions, since you took the time to write them! :)

Lil' Sis

My best friends are my sisters. I love them...even when we fight, which is hardly ever. They also suck...because they both never had AWKWARD stages growing up...like never. They both were cute from the time they were born. See I have TONS of horrible, embarrassing, ugly growing up stage pictures...they just don't. They suck. But I love them. Ya get it?



We are almost NEVER like this. We are always laughing when we are together. They allow me to take center stage, of course, because making people laugh at me is one of my greatest qualities...at least that is what my therapist tells me to tell myself. :)



Yea more like this...Sorry, Dance Masta for squishing your face on this shot...I just LOVE ya so much! :)



Here's the rest of my sisters...the two are my blood...the other two are IL's...but I love them to. 

The only request I had of my brothers was to marry someone who wasn't cuter or prettier than I am...they both failed. Not only are they pretty on the outside...but they also have freakin' great personalities.  They suck also...but I love them also...you still with me?

Well today isn't really about THAT...today is about my Lil' Sis.  My soon to be little mommy sis.  Who just had a birthday.  And because I didn't have my back up picture CD to show you other pics of her...I had to use what I had in my Picasa Web Album...hence, the three pics above.



Lil' Sis...is one of the GREATEST Aunts around. My kids adore her. She is one of those Aunts that takes them swimming and buys stuff for them...and they just think she is the shiz. She is going to be a GREAT mom! No, an INCREDIBLE MOM :)



One of the things I love most about her... is she lets me take pics of her to practice my photography. I envy her green eyes and super nova eye lashes...so I'm always focusing on her eyes!!!



Oh and I LOVE her profile...I'm always saying..."Hey turn your face to the Left..." and then I'll snap her picture...She just has that cute pert nose...I envy that also...sigh.



We hang out...and she doesn't care to be dumb and just do whatever... she is always up for anything.



We talk for hours about whatever...and I honestly don't know what I would do without her being a big part of my life. She is a big example to me with just being who she is. She is honest to a fault and has one of the biggest hearts I know of.



So Lil Sis...I love you. Happy Freaking Birthday!

And Please eat all your BOILED eggs that you color and don't hide them SO well they won't be found...they leave a terrible smell after a couple of days...I'm just saying...learn from other people's mistakes!

A watered-down Punky Brewster!

My daughter is a little watered-down version of Punky Brewster. She dresses herself...and almost always picks out something bright and colorful.

She loves mixing stripes with polka dots.

So when it's time to get dressed for Pre-School...it's a battle to see who gets to win the dressing game.

I'm always telling her..."PeePs that doesn't match" or "Honey, you can wear THAT shirt when you get home...but you have to wear this one to school!"

I know I am probably hurting her creativity or repressing her inner child...but I can't help it!

Some outfits, I'll admit, are darling that she puts together. She almost ALWAYS picks a skirt or dress...and then some tights that are either polka dot or striped...it's usually the shirt we disagree on!!! This day...I made her wear a plain long sleeved green shirt...but she picked out the rest!



I asked if she would let me take her picture..."I have to take them on the tramp Mom or they won't work."





I'm sorry...as much as I TRIED to leave these shots AS they were shot from the CAMERA...I caved and edited this one...please don't think I'm being Photo Shop snobbish!

The only problem after she agrees to wear my solid shirts...is she WON'T let me put her hair up in some crazy messy buns or something cute like that.

She is JUST as stickler with her hair...she LOVES to wear it down or in a side pony or a pony tail with a braid!!!

She doesn't understand that with her funky sense of style the cute messy MICKEY MOUSE ear buns would be perfect...

AAAHHH Well...I guess I'll choose my battle's!

Is there a way to TRICK your kids into liking something they absolutely BELIEVE they don't like...like with PeeP's hair? I KNOW she would look so CUTE with those messy buns...but have YET to convince her of that...Any Tips?

A mom can NEVER brag enough!

This is DCAR my oldest child.

I know its been a while since I have posted about my kids, this kid especially...but I'm going to do that now.

And I always say, "A Mom can NEVER brag enough" can they?

I'm sure there are exceptions, don't rain on my parade all right!

I am HEAD Room Mom for DCAR's class. (I was coerced people...COERCED into being the room Mom...and the fact that NOBODY else signed up for being a parent volunteer probably had something to do with it.) Anyway, that means that I am in charge of a few parties throughout the year. Well TWO to be exact. The Halloween Party and the Valentine's Party.

Back when I went to elementary school we made our very OWN mailboxes!!! I LOVED making my own mailbox.

I would tenderly wrap it in tin foil...cut out cute hearts of pinks and purples and write all sorts of fun love stuff on it...and maybe dreams...like, "Shelle is going to be the BEST dancer in the WORLD"...ya know, stuff like that!

I wanted DCARs class to have the same experience...so we decided to do a valentine exchange and have them bring their own Valentine boxes.

My son and my husband had the job of decorating the shoe box. My Husband wrapped it in these random wrapping papers we had. Then let my son have at it. Let's just say...my son wasn't AS into it as I was.

Here he is passing out his invitations. He spent more time on his Valentines. He wanted to make sure that the girls KNEW that he didn't LOVE them. So he gave neutral valentine's to them.

This was the best part for the kids...going through the LOOT!!! See that girl next to DCAR? She got a BLUE plastic looking gem in her Valentine...and was sad...so DCAR found a purple one that another kid had and asked if they would trade with her. Cute huh? I did warn you that this was a BRAGGING post right?
This is the game I had them play. For one minute they are suppose to try and stack SMARTIES...whoever stacks the most wins. We played like 10 rounds of it!

Let's just say, this isn't DCARS best game!!! :)

Okay...just to finish with the bragging post.

I went to Parent/Teacher Conference for DCAR on Monday and the teacher told me this, "DCAR is one of my BEST kids in class. Whenever I pair the kids up I always put DCAR with those kids that are more shy and reserved and alone because DCAR always makes them feel good about themselves."

Honestly guys, my eyes teared up, bad...

So I had to share...I had to brag...I'm a little proud of the kid.

SO now I would like to give ALL of you the opportunity to brag away about whatever you want in my comment box...because I'm feeling in that kind of mood today! Anything you need to brag about?

CONGRATS NannyBird for winning February's Don't You Hate It When contest!

I might just very well die because of this...

We bought this digital camera a few years ago...the one requirement I had is that I could also take pictures underwater because I think pictures underwater are HEEE-LARIOUS!!!

So we found our little Olympus digital camera.

As I was wandering through photos I found these ones we took when we first got the camera! And I wasn't disappointed.




Is there a way to look gorgeous underwater? Really? Somebody? HELP ME???



I MIGHT just die for putting this picture up. My Husband may actually kill me. But it's worth it...

What kind of wife would I be if I just went through life without the adrenaline rush of my husband planning my imminent demise?

So If I don't have a blog post up on Monday...call 911 if you know me and know where I live...if you see me in the Obituaries...you know who to suspect...okay!??!

Now this picture was taken in waters over in Hawaii in Crash's domain and i didn't even KNOW her then...but I was there, within walking distance to her house...I'm sure, and didn't even know it!!!

Where my family goes from Somewhat Respectable to Redneck White Trash...I love it!

This is my Brother, I deem, The Traveler. He's the oldest of my OLDER brothers. He's a perfectionist and has always had all is ducks in a row.

But the times I LOVE him most is the times when he is NOT perfect...

He had the opportunity to take part in raising me...lucky guy. He taught me responsibility and to always have a plan A,B and C.

That is his KMART model look...he's perfected it. Mine rallies his though, I should have been a KMART model...oh well, that time has passed...

Okay, so he TRIES to be evil...but he can't be, he's totally NOT evil in Anyway. He didn't even KNOW about French Kissing until he was closed to being engaged??? And he didn't get married until he was 31...What the What? I'll never understand that...(Sorry Heidi, but it's just so FUN to French Kiss!!! In my HUMBLE opinion!)

But like I said, I love when he gets surprised, when the unexpected happens to HIM...

So the FAMILY Christmas party I planned we had a FIESTA. What's a Fiesta without a pinata? In my world of ignorance...it's NOTHING without a Pinata. So we had ONE pinata for the kids...FULL OF SUGAR treats and cheap penny toys...they LOVED it.

We filled the adult one with MONEY. Cash and Change...but we didn't tell anybody about it. We wanted it to be a surprise...catch everyone OFF guard. And THE TRAVELER was NO exception!

As soon as my Dad swung at that pinata and money went FLINGING EVERYWHERE...my family went from Highly respectable family...to REDNECK WHITE TRASH! (And I mean that in the MOST respectful way :) )

It was Glorious! Then at the mad scramble for the money...my brother--my perfect, reliable, and handsome brother...slipped on ice we had covered up with the tarp and fell...so UNGRACEFULLY and UN-Perfectly! And I caught the after math on CAMERA!!!

Flat on his back--at least he can still smile at himself...the pants next to him is Suns Fan #1...he was asking if The Traveler was okay...now watch...

He's laughing...everything is good...

Still laughing...Suns Fan #1 is pointing his finger and the black coat with skinny jean legs is The Traveler's wife...notice she is turned around still trying to nab some money! :)

Okay he's getting up...

This is my White Trash Redneck Family...The only ones paying attention to THE TRAVELER is either pointing at him and laughing...or just plain laughing.

The Traveler's wife is showing the DOLLAR she nabbed...

The others? They are all still attempting to pick up whatever LOOT they can get their grubby hands on...notice the left hand side of the pic...my BIL who I talked about in my FIRST KISS story...he's on his 6'5" hands and knees SCRAPING for a nickel...or maybe a quarter! *shakes head*

The Traveler is flexible...we are a PERFORMING family...here is he is in a FULL lunge stretch!


I hope it didn't ruin his coat...maybe we should have warned him about the ice? Or maybe about the money so he wouldn't have been so EAGER to be the first to the scene of the Pinata LOOT?

OHMYGOSH...I LOVED IT! It was the best pinata party EVER!!!
