Do you wish you were a boy sometimes?

Was looking at the last few posts and have realized that they have been kinda LONG.

Sorry I promised I would work on that.

ANd it isn't because I don't have INTELLIGENT readers...because HEY, hate to boast but I have actual WRITERS that read this blog once in a while...and if you are a writer you are a reader...right? Can I get a wha-what! WOW...haven't said that phrase since 1999...creepy...but whatev.

Anyway, it's just if you are like me...you like to be in and out. Kind of like a guy and a one night stand.

So, I'm just going to relate a quick conversation I had with my daughter on Monday.

Me: "PeePs, do you wish you were a boy sometimes?"--there is a long reason why I asked this question...the short version is her ONLY real friend is her brother...and sometimes his friends won't let her hang out with them because she is a girl.

PeePs: "No Mom, me no wish I was a boy. I am a girl!"

Me: Relief--"Oh good, so you like being a girl! :)"

PeePs: "Yes Mom." in a giddy 3 year old voice.

Me: "Right because boy's have COOTIES huh!" never to young to start their training.

And then she gave me this face and said:

PeePs: "Yea...and weiners!"

Wow! She's a quick learner! How can I keep her repulsed of those until the time it is safe for her?

Oh my gosh...hilarious! Sounds like something my daughter would have said at that age.

Such wisdom beyond her years. Good luck with that one!

Have you heard Beyonce's new song, "If I Were A Boy"? I love it!

Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Elaine says, "I don't know how you guys walk around with those things."

Glad I'm a girl. :)

Methinks you asked a question to which the answer is: you don't. When the hormones kick in, it's all over, my friend. You can pray that your daughter is a late bloomer, that is all.

That's a smart little girl. It might be all well and good for her to not like boys now...but 20 years down the road when she's still scared of them? Not so cool.

Oh wait? We're talking about Peeps, not me. Okay, I take that all back.

That's hilarious. And seriously, who WOULD want a wiener?

someday she's going to be camping in the middle of the woods and have a brief change of heart...

and my littlest one makes that same face - of course I haven't been able to capture it on film much to my dismay!

hee hee hee hee. So cute.

My daughter wishes she was a boy. She wants to pass the sacrament and be a bishop. Plus boys don't have to do crafts at Young Women's. And they get out of everything.

Crazy girl!

I love the honesty and the look on her face is THE BEST! Great pic!

I used to with I was a boy when I was young, for similar reasons to Crash's daughter. Boys got to play basketball on Wednesdays instead of do personal progress; they got to go on 50 mile hikes and rock climbing trips while girls went the same boring camp every year. They were stronger and faster and they could wear their hair short and didn't have to bother with bras or that "other" disgusting stuff!

Hm. Sometimes I still wish I was a boy. Except for that weiner thing. That's just weird, man. :shudder:

I do not like Heidi's answer to your question one bit. I have three girls and if you ever do find a better answer, please let me know.

Thanks.

That is good stuff! Good job, teaching her.
All three of my kids still bathe together, and I'm thinking its about time we split up the girls from the boy.

hahahaha! OH my GADNESS you guys! That is too funny! I love all the advice, but mostly that you read my post and laughed at it!

Of course it wasn't ME being the funny one, it was my daughter!

Like I've always said though, she IS ME inside her father's genetics! :)

And Lara...I didn't really like Heidi's answer either, even though I like HEIDI immensely because she is a writer, but...there HAS to be something we can do! :)

Oh, I love it! But was it in public? And did she SCREAM it? Too funny!

Jen said...

Well you know they say "out of the mouth of babes"...

And you can tell your daughter I've often had this exact same thought.

Except when I'm camping. Or spending a REALLY long time in the car. But 99% of the time, I'd hate to be male.

That Peeps - she is one little comedian. Just like her mom.

Kristina - you should see MSM, that child is the girl version of him!

Smart child that little one! That was hysterical.

Impressive and kind of hysterical. I just added one more reason to my "Why I'm glad to be a girl" list.
